Team LMT is an amateur cycling team, founded by Lucy Monro in 2013. Originally named Team SWR, after one of the magazines that she edited and published, it was renamed following Lucy’s death in 2015, to honour her legacy and draw awareness to the Lucy Monro Memorial Trust (LMMT). Based in Dubai, but with members around the world, it comprises riders of varied nationalities and abilities and has a competitive, but inclusive style.
In October 2015, 11 riders from Team LMT will undertake a Rapha Cent Cols Challenge in France, partly as a memorial ride and also to raise funds for LMMT. The ride, named simply ‘Lucy’s Cent Cols’, involves climbing 100 mountain passes or cols, in ten days. It’s a huge challenge, covering 65% of the distance and 100% of the cumulative climbing of a Tour de France, but in less than half the time.
It will be the first time that a Rapha Cent Cols Challenge has been ridden by a team and it’s also the inaugural Cent Cols event in this particular region of France – the Cévennes (Massif Central).
